Voluntary Action Awards 2012

TIME TO RECOGNISE YOUR VOLUNTEERS

Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil (VAMT) are calling for nominations from organisations and individuals who have benefited from the work of volunteers that have shown commitment and enthusiasm and have made a valuable contribution to the community.

One award will be presented for each of the 14 categories. This year there are separate nominations forms for each of the award categories.

This year there are 2 new awards, the Golden Contribution Award is to recognise an individual volunteer who has made a sustainable contribution to the voluntary sector in Merthyr Tydfil; this could be with just one organisation or with more than one organisation over the years. The nominee must not have previously won a VAMT award. The idea is to recognise the “unsung heroes” of the sector, for example, the person who always opens up and locks up after youth club, the cake bakers and coffee makers who help raise funds, or the volunteer who can be relied upon to make sure the hall is clean and tidy.

The Environmental Award will recognise an individual who has made an outstanding contribution and commitment to the environment of Merthyr Tydfil county Borough and gained confidence to motivate others to take action.

The Award ceremony will take place at Penydarren Social Club on Friday 6th July tickets will be available from the 1st June 2012.

To obtain copies of the nomination form, information and rules, telephone (01685) 353913 or 353900 to request a copy by post or download the forms from the list below:
