One award will be presented for each of the 10 categories including two Carers awards. This year there is a new award entitled ‘Promotion of the Welsh Language through Volunteering’ sponsored by the Welsh Language Board.
VAMT Volunteer Officer Karen Foley said,
“We will only be holding one volunteering event this year so it’s even more important that we receive nominations from organisations and individuals for those volunteers who really deserve recognition for their good work”
Councillor Jeff Edwards, Leader of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council said,
“It’s vitally important to nominate because volunteers in our community deserve recognition. Volunteers show tremendous commitment to the third sector and the provision of services provided help the Merthyr Borough tremendously. These awards are the only recognition volunteers actually get”.
