COMMUNITY CAPACITY GRANT SCHEME 2017-2018

On behalf of the Social Services & Wellbeing Partnership, VAMT and Interlink are pleased to announce that the following projects have been awarded funding under the Community Capacity Grant Scheme 2017-18. Please note that this serves as a very brief outline of the projects only, and individual project marketing materials will be available in due course.

Women’s Aid RCT
(SAFE) Safeguarding Against Fear and Exploitation project
provide a drop in, outreach service and group programmes specifically tailored for women over 50 who have experienced violence, domestic or sexual abuse Taff Ely
New Pathways deliver a family support service that will engage directly with children and young people who have been affected by rape and sexual abuse, and their families Cwm Taf wide
Cruse Bereavement Service
Life after Bereavement
provide a range of approaches and interventions to enable individuals to receive support and advice around bereavement and loss Cwm Taf wide
Merthyr & the Valleys
MIND
Safe Space
in partnership with Barnardos build resilience of young people, enabling them to make positive changes to their emotional and mental wellbeing Merthyr Tydfil

Visible Transgender Services
an inclusive project that will advocate and mediate on behalf of transgender children and young people; including establishing written publications and web resources to inform professionals Cwm Taf wide
Valleys Kids
A Place and Time for You
with a focus on dementia, and via the community hub at Rhydyfelin, establish regular sessions to create supported befriending opportunities through a programme of creative and social interventions Taff Ely
SNAP Cymru
Children Matter project
deliver a key-working service, where none already in place, and support families where children have complex needs and disabilities to build resilience and learn new skills and strategies Cwm Taf wide
Merthyr Citizens Advice Bureau
CAB@Home 2017
enhance traditional/new support services by providing a gateway of advice and support concentrating on ways to maximise income and reduce fuel poverty Merthyr Tydfil
Gilfach Goch Community Association
Disability Activity Centre
working with people who have complex learning disabilities, provide opportunities to engage in intensive interaction through stimulating, fun activities Taff Ely
Newydd Housing Association
FoodWise and Friends
run a series of weekly workshops to increase interest in healthy, nutritious food and make make participants more aware of activities that could improve diet and overall wellbeing Cynon Valley
Valleys Kids
A Space for Us
this project plans a co-operative group-based approach to engage young people suffering with depression to address some of the challenges they face and help them develop their own coping mechanisms Taff Ely
Follow Your Dreams
Little Dreamers
adopting a “can do” attitude run weekly workshops for children with disabilities to develop skills, talents and self-esteem Cwm Taf wide
