3-2-3 Project – Third Sector Support to the Third Sector
Project Aim
The aim of the project is to deliver a support service to third sector organisations that are, or wish to become active through the provision of products or services in the local social economy.
Who is able to access support?
The project covers organisations based in the county of Merthyr Tydfil who operate within the third sector and wish to develop trading activities, and organisations already operating as social enterprises. This includes voluntary, community and charitable groups looking to become less dependent on grant funding.
What support is available?
Support is available to organisations in order to help:
- become more self sustaining through the trading of services or products; and to
- improve business skills, strategies and confidence.
Training and one to one support in business practices will be tailored to meet the needs of the individual organisation and can include:
- developing a marketing strategy, market segmentation and market research
- preparing to trade, charitable trading, establishment of a trading arm
- preparing to tender
- financial development support
The aim of the project is to equip organisations in the social economy with the necessary skills and resources to successfully increase trading activities. It is an example of a Third Sector organisation delivering business support to Third Sector organisations.
